8:00 am – COFFEE AND CURRENT EVENTS WITH A RANGER
Come fill your cup with some coffee and have a conversation about the current events within Sleeping Bear Dunes and the National Park Service. Limited amount of coffee and tea will be provided. Please bring your own cup!
Platte River Pavilions Picnic Area 10 miles south of Empire on Lake Michigan Rd. Ranger will be there for 2 hours, stay for as long as you like.

9:30 am – KAYAK THE CRYSTAL
Enjoy an easy six-mile paddle down the Crystal River to discover
the history and ecology of this beautiful area. Bring your own
canoe/ kayak or rent one locally.
Reservations required: call (231)-326-4700 ext. 5005 at least 2 hours before program. Arrive 15 minutes early. Meet at the Fisher Road boat launch, .5 miles North of Glen Arbor on M-22 to County Rd. 675, right .7 miles to Fisher Rd. Parking available at the boat launch, 6 miles, 2.5-3 hours.

1:00 pm – SECRET OF THE STONES
Beautiful beach rocks abound on the sandy shores of Sleeping Bear Dunes. Use your keen observation skills to uncover the tales these stones hold.
Cannery beach in Glen Haven, 45 min.

3:00 pm – HEROES OF THE STORM
This re-enactment of a turn-of-the-century shipwreck rescue is designed for children of all ages.

8:00 pm – TWILIGHT TALKS
Learn more about the fascinating aspects of Sleeping Bear Dunes’ natural and cultural wonders in a nightly presentation. Inquire at the Phillip A. Hart Visitor Center or campground bulletin boards for the night’s subject.
