Classical Guitarist, Russell Nebelung, will hold a concert at Cross of Christ Lutheran, 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 15th. Cost: free will offering.
Russell Nebelung is a performing classical guitarist in the mid-Michigan area. In addition to concert venues, Mr. Nebelung regularly performs for special engagements such as weddings, dinner parties, and memorial services. He is an adjunct professor at Albion College and Spring Arbor University, where he instructs students in guitar performance, and has a private studio in Grand Ledge, Michigan at the Youth Enrichment Services (YES) Center, where he teaches students of all ages – children and adults. He currently resides in East Lansing, Michigan.
In 2006 Mr. Nebelung was awarded his Master’s of Music degree in Classical Guitar Performance from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati, where he studied with Clare Callahan. He received his BA in Music and Economics from Albion College in 2003. At the College-Conservatory of Music he was awarded a University Graduate Scholarship as well as a Graduate Assistantship Award, which entailed the private instruction of guitar majors and elective students as well as the responsibility of Assistant Director of the CCM Classical Guitar Ensemble. During his time at CCM Mr. Nebelung also taught privately at Music Makers of Cincinnati and Slater Music Academy of Ft. Thomas, Kentucky.
Mr. Nebelung was raised in Grand Ledge, Michigan, and graduated from Grand Ledge High School in June of 1999. He has been a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church since 1987.
