North Central Michigan College and McLean & Eakin Booksellers invite the public to a virtual community book discussion with author, Philip Ackerman-Leist, in the Library Conference Center on the Petoskey campus. This lecture is free and open to the public.

In Rebuilding the Foodshed, Ackerman-Leist provides a roadmap for taking the food movement to the next level.  Rebuilding our regional food systems eliminates the destructive aspects of industrial agriculture, keeps our dollars in the local economy, meets food needs affordably and sustainably, and makes our food systems more resilient. Showcasing some of the most promising, replicable models for growing, processing, and distributing sustainably grown food, this book points the reader toward the next stages of the food revolution.  This is the first in a series of winter discussions on rebuilding our local foodshed.
