MANISTEE & SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES: Director Carol Burba is looking to cast 20 – 30 Performers, ages 16 & up, in this spectacular four-time Grammy, three-time Oscar, and Tony Award-winning musical allegory. Needed: singers, dancers, actors, performance artists and acrobats aged 16 and up.
SHOW DESCRIPTION – Heir to the Frankish throne, the young prince, Pippin, is in search of the secret to true happiness and fulfillment. He seeks it in the glories of the battlefield, the temptations of the flesh and the intrigues of political power (after disposing of his father, King Charlemagne the Great). In the end, Pippin finds that happiness lies not in extraordinary endeavors, but rather in the unextraordinary moments that happen every day.
With an infectiously unforgettable score from the four-time Grammy winner, three-time Oscar winner and musical theater giant, Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Godspell, Children of Eden), Pippin has been successfully produced on stages ranging from High School to Broadway. Sweeping the New York Awards circuit (Tony, Drama Desk, Drama League, Outer Critics Circle) in 2013, Pippin continues to captivate and appeal to the young at heart throughout the world.
Auditions will be held the Ramsdell Theatre (April 30th-6-8pm), 101 Maple Street and at the Senior Center (May 2nd-7-9pm), 457 River Street, Manistee.
No preparation is necessary. Those auditioning will be asked to read from the script, sing a group song, and participate in a movement piece. For questions or to read a script, please call Director Carol Burba at 231-970-1686 or email the Manistee Civic Players at [email protected]
