6:00-9pm, Mackinac Art Museum, $10

Join local and regional artists as they share their art expertise. Our art workshops series takes place at the historic Mackinac Art Museum, located downtown in Marquette Park. Supplies are provided, but you may bring your own. Class sizes are limited, early registration recommended to guarantee space.

Lean how to paint Plein Air on beautiful Mackinac. Students will paint outdoors, capturing the early evening light and color. Through guidence, students will learn to use their own voice, exploring how the use of color, bold shapes and strong value contribute to making an expressive painting. Working on location, near the Museum, Maeve will demonstrate her techniques, explain her methods of working outdoors, and give guidance to each painter. Students are provided with acrylic paints, canvases and easel. Students are welcome to paint in oil if they bring their own materials. For beginner to advanced students.
