Break out your dancing shoes and 1880s attire for the third annual Pinecone Ball at Hartwick Pines State Park. The Friends of Hartwick Pines are hosting this evening of traditional music and dancing at the Michigan Forest Visitor Center at Hartwick Pines State Park on Saturday, November 3, 2012. The Olde Michigan Ruffwater String Band will again provide music of the late 19th Century with dance instruction and calling by Glen Morningstar Jr. If you’ve never waltzed, danced an English Contra Dance or participated in a Virginia Reel, you will have the opportunity to learn these popular dances and others at this fun evening event.
This fun evening of dancing begins at 6pm with greetings and refreshments. Dancing begins at 7pm and will go until 10pm. Farewells from 10-11pm. Tickets are limited for the Pinecone Ball and are $25 per couple, $15 per individual, and $3 per student. 1880s period attire is encouraged but not required. Business casual or dressier is the dress code.
