The Dance Center Youth Ensemble (DCYE) begins its thirteenth year with this production of Peter Pan. The DCYE was founded in December 2002 by Korin Drilling and Tera Garrow of The Dance Center, where The DCYE is housed. DCYE has presented original full-length ballets including Nutcracker, Cinderella, Aladdin, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and A Christmas Carol, and one-act versions of Peter Pan and Sleeping Beauty-The Awakening and Cinderella, along with a variety of community outreach performances, workshops and even a summer Tour and performance at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.
This year, The Dance Center will celebrate its 47th year of dance excellence, providing a full range of dance education and performance opportunities to the northern Michigan area. Area students must audition for membership in The DCYE and Fresh Fusion Dance Teams, and must maintain a rigorous level of training to retain their membership status. Ballet Virtuoso & Studio Company, directed by Sarah Parshall, is a small group of pre-professional ballet students who may join this group by invitation only; and must maintain a high level of ballet technique training and strict attendance for class and rehearsal.
