Old Town Playhouse is holding auditions for Wait Until Dark, recently adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher from the hit 1966 Broadway play by Frederick Knott. This taut drama has roles for one woman playing someone in her 20s or 30s, four men playing characters in their 30s or 40s, and one girl playing someone age 12 to 14.
Auditions are open to all community members and will be held Monday, July 10, and Tuesday, July 11, at 7:00 pm in the Schmuckal Theatre on the lower level of the Playhouse at 148 East Eighth Street, Traverse City. Auditionees must read from the script and be familiar with the production. Perusal scripts are available for no charge via e-mail or for a $10 deposit at the OTP Business Office. Performances will be September 15-30.
A blind Greenwich Village housewife becomes the target of three con men. They are searching for a mysterious doll which her husband unwittingly brought home. When she discovers she is the victim of their bizarre charade, she turns out the lights, producing a riveting struggle in the dark.
