You may remember the 2012 and 2013 Seward Johnson Sculptures that graced the sidewalks of Cadillac. They impressed locals and brought tourists to the Cadillac area. The Friends of the Cadillac Library are back at it! This month, New Hampshire artist, Andy Moerlein will be installing his “Farfetched” Exhibit in trees around the city park and the library. These boulders will be perched in our trees for one year. “Yes, it is a quirky idea! That’s what makes it fun!” states Vickie Essenmacher, Program Coordinator.
Mr. Moerlein is an internationally exhibited sculptor. His work has been shown in museums, sculpture gardens, and galleries from Alaska to New York, Switzerland to Peru. Andy Moerlein has an extensive resume of public art works.
To offset the costs involved in bringing this caliber of art to Cadillac, Friends of the Library is having a “Meet the Artist” dinner, silent auction, and program with question and answer period at AFTER 26 CAFE, Friday, March 20, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at Long’s Antiques, AFTER 26 CAFE, or by calling 231-510-9047. Ticket price is $30.00. Advance purchase necessary as seats are limited.
