The second annual “Leelanau Uncaged” is being held in Northport on Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 10 am to 10 pm. The event was inspired by a famous American composer and choreographer named John M. Cage who famously said, “get yourself out of whatever cage you are in.”

This street fair is centered around the idea of “uncaging” yourself! Eat great food from local restaurants including 9 Bean Rows, Pigs Eatin’ Ribs, Ethnic Garden Catering and much more. Enjoy live music all day from a variety of bands and take in the works of Northern Michigan artists scattered throughout Northport. This is a day for the whole family and includes a special tent set aside for kids and even a quiet nook to take toddlers or babies!

Throughout the day don’t forget to write down your troubles on a slip of paper and put it in the giant antique birdcage that will be between the brewery and the hardware store. At about 9 pm during Third Space’s Fire Dance, those papers will be set afire, setting you free of your troubles.

For the complete lineup of the day check out the UnCaged website and their Facebook page.
