North Central Michigan College’s Luncheon Lecture offers information about birding in our area. The lecture is at noon in the Library conference room on the Petoskey campus.
Charlevoix and Emmet counties are home to 236 species of birds and many excellent places to view and photograph them. Darrell Lawson, the acting president of the Petoskey Regional Audubon Society, and Lisa Hoyt, promotions coordinator, will discuss birding and show images of bird species that can be found at the various locations in our area. Darrell leads field trips for Audubon groups and maintains a birding blog with spectacular photos of birds at www.birdingcharlevoix.com.
Cost for the event is $10 and includes lunch. Reservations are required. Call 231.348.6600 to reserve your place at the table. Lunch begins at 11:30am.
Petoskey, on Little Traverse Bay, is about 60 miles north of Traverse City on US-31.
