THE LANSING UNIONIZED VAUDEVILLE SPECTACLE Vaudeville Comes to Curtis! Featuring ukuleles, upright bass, banjo, clarinet, chorus girls and much more, The Lansing Unionized Vaudeville Spectacle (LUVS) performs an original musical show of various old-time genres (Americana, Klezmer, Gypsy-jazz, etc.) mixed with theatrical vignettes and presented with high energy. Also featured in their live show are the band’s hand-made stage props and costumes- a spectacle for the eyes as well as the ears! Proud to be Michiganders, they will be conducting their only tour of the year this June across the beautiful Upper Peninsula.
On Wednesday, June 12th at 7:00 p.m. they will be performing in Curtis at the Erickson Center. Advance reserved seating tickets available for $15 by credit card. Call 906-586-9974 to purchase.
With funding from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA), and in partnership with filmmaker Ariel Vida, this summer’s “Made in Michigan” tour will be the subject of a full length documentary film. Featured in the film will be the many beautiful sights and stops along their musical journey, as well as a behind the scenes look at the inner workings of a modern minstrel troupe. Come to Curtis and support a Michigan made group of talented artists and musicians. You won’t be disappointed.
