Small-scale growers of oilseeds can turn their crops into everything from high-end cooking oils to fuels like biodiesel. Join William Koucky of Northwest Michigan Biodiesel LLC in a discussion of how he turned the canola he grew into the biodiesel he used to run his own tractor. Following the presentation, we’ll tour Bill’s seed cleaning and processing facility, and discuss the process he uses to make food-grade oil as well as fuel from food waste for local markets. Free.

This event is part of a series organized by the Small Farm Guild and is sponsored by ISLAND, the Northern Michigan Small Farm Conference, and Great Lakes Bioneers.
