PETOSKEY: The Zonta Club of Petoskey is delighted to announce that it will be the first Zonta Club in Michigan to host the Great Girls in Michigan History exhibit, April 21 through May 17, at the Petoskey District Library. Michigan girls do great things. In this exhibit you will meet nine girls from different eras, with different dreams, from across the state of Michigan who all accomplished something amazing before the age of 20. This exhibit features women like Serena Williams, Tricia McNaughton (Saunders), MaryLou Hernandez, and Myra Komaroff (Wolfgang). It was not always easy for these girls; most had significant obstacles to overcome to reach their goals. Visitors will leave knowing what qualities Great Girls possess and will be inspired to reach their own dreams.
On Friday, April 21, Zonta Club of Petoskey and the Connecting Women in Business group of the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce will host a joint luncheon to celebrate Great Girls in Michigan History. Dr. Caitlyn Perry Dial, Executive Director of the Michigan Women’s Historical Center and Hall of Fame, will be our keynote speaker. The luncheon runs from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. and is in the Iron Horse Café at North Central Michigan College.
The cost for the luncheon is $17 for Petoskey chamber Connecting Women in Business members or $22 for non-members and reservations can be made online at www.petoskeychamber.com.
The Friends of the Petoskey District Library will also host a wine and cheese reception at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 21. For more information or to register, please contact the Petoskey District Library at 231-758-3100.
