In celebration of its 20th season, the Grand Rapids Women’s Chorus will be presenting “Twenty Years of Passion, Purpose, and Song” on Saturday, July 16th, 2016 at Central United Methodist Church in Traverse City. The doors open at 7p.m. and the concert starts at 7:30 p.m. The 60-voice chorus, under the musical direction of Lori Tennenhouse, with contributions from Assistant Director Brenda Baker, will be accompanied by pianist Phil Pletcher. In addition to addressing issues of gun violence and racism, the chorus will be singing about love and connection, with repertoire from many cultures. Showcasing its favorite repertoire from previous years, the GRWC will also be presenting the original work “Colors” by Michigan composer Marjan Helms from a poem by Philadelphia poet Susan Windle. The evening promises to be moving and memorable. Don’t miss it! $10 suggested donation at the door.
