Traverse City MI – The Great Lakes Children’s Museum will be offering a special New Year’s Eve celebration for children on December 31st!

2017 Countdown to Noon with the Great Lakes Children’s Museum! Can’t wait until midnight? It’s midnight somewhere in the world- so let’s watch the ball drop and make some noise! Activities begin in the Great Lakes Room at 10:00 am, and the countdown commences at 11:59 am. Activities continue until 3:00 pm. It’s a full day of FUN!

10:00- 11:45 — Decorate the Ball, Noise Maker and Party Hats crafts, Time Capsule crafts

12:00 — Noon Ball Drop!

12:15- 3:00 — Noise Makers, Party Hats, Time Capsules, Kids New Year’s Party fun!

At 10:00 am, children will begin decorating the ball, making noisemakers and hats and beginning a special time capsule activity. Children will record the day through various measures and then create a time capsule to put everything in. They can take their time capsule home and open it next year (or in 10 years)!

Afterward we will watch the Museum’s ball drop and have a Countdown to 12:00 noon.

Time Capsule activity will take place from 10:00am – 3:00pm. Volunteers and staff will be on hand to provide assistance. This event is free with paid Museum admission and is appropriate for children of all ages with adult supervision. Admission is $7/person for everyone, age one and up (free for children under age one).

The Great Lakes Children’s Museum is located at 13240 S. West Bay Shore Drive (M- 22) in Greilickville, 7/10 of a mile north of the intersection of M-22 and M-72.

Proceeds from this special event will help support the long term, strategic vision of the Great Lakes Children’s Museum — and allow it to continue to provide the free and discounted admissions given to some of our community members who need it most –our military, at-risk and lower income families.
