The Carl D Bradley, the largest Great Lakes shipwreck in American waters, capsized after a storm in 1958. 33 men were lost in the tragedy and mystery quickly surrounded its sinking near Gull Island. Two survivors were plucked from the icy Lake Michigan after a heroic rescue run by the Cutter Sundew. This October, shipwreck researcher, Ric Mixter, will dive into the mystery surrounding the tragic loss and the personalities involoved. Ric will share newsreel footage of the search and interviews with survivors Frank Mays, Harold Muth– Captain of the Sundew, and a corpsman who tended to Frank Mays and Elmer Fleming.
