“My name is Alexander Hamilton and there’s a million things I’ve haven’t done… but just you wait, just you wait!” Don Roth uses music and lyrics from the smash musical “Hamilton” along with pictures, maps & videos from the internet to tell the fascinating story of this penniless orphan from the Caribbean who made his way to the halls of government and the pinnacle of power before his tragic fall at the hands of Aaron Burr. Stop in and find out what happens along the way.

Don grew up in Mt. Morris, Michigan. There he married his childhood sweetheart, Debbie Lawrence. He attended the University of Michigan-Flint, then went on to medical school at Wayne State University. His residency was done at the University of Vermont. He practiced as a neurologist in Petoskey for 32 years and retired at the beginning of 2016. He has two daughters and five grandchildren. “Those families are the pride of my life.”

In retirement his passions are tennis, bicycling, sailing and woodworking. His love of history stems from bedtime stories. “My brother, ten years my elder, would tell me wonderful tales about the Green Mountain boys, Daniel Morgan at the battle of Cowpens, and Alexander Hamilton, the immigrant from Nevis. I’ve never lost that fascination.”
