Artist Maryanne Turovaara will demonstrate that colorful strips of fabric are all you need to transform ordinary white clothesline into decorative bowls, baskets and purses. Learn to stitch rows of fabric-wrapped clothesline together using a zigzag stitch, and create the form you want as you add rows. This wrapping and coiling technique is very easy and produces great results. Anyone from a beginner to a seasoned sewer will enjoy these projects. Make a one-of-a-kind piece without an exact pattern that will allow you to trust your instincts and creative abilities!

While some basic materials will be on hand, participants are expected to bring the following:
Sewing machine with zig-zag stitch sharp needle, 90/14 fabric scissors and/or rotary cutter cutting mat, 1 large spool of thread, and a glue stick.

$23 for members, $28 for non-members plus a $2 fee, available at www.MyNorthTickets.com
