Artist: John Sauvé
The Man in the City Sculpture Project is comprised of 40 sculptures currently displayed on the rooftops throughout Detroit and Windsor. John Sauvé created the Man in the City Project in 2008 and has exhibited on New York City’s Highline and Governor’s Island. As a part of Crooked Tree Arts Center’s Detroit @ CTAC exhibit, Man in the City has paid a visit “Up North”. There will be approximately 20 sculptures installed throughout northern Michigan, and the
Charlevoix Public Library is proud to display him above our main entrance. The Man in the City Project creates a metaphor for life that transforms the skyline and encourages people to look around. In the discovery process one becomes aware of their own sense of place within their environment.
Be sure and look up the next time you come through our main entrance!
