Eric Hemenway is an Anisnaabe/Odawa from Cross Village, Michigan. He is the Director of Repatriation, Archives and Records for the Little Traverse Bands of Odawa Indians. As such he oversees the management and preservation of historic documents and materials for the tribe, as well as utilizing those materials in educational initiatives. Hemenway will touch on many controversial issues and misconceptions regarding the presence of the Anisnaabe/Odawa in Michigan. “If I had to choose a title for my talk,” he said, “I would call it Preservation.”
