This call for entries goes out to all schools in the Traverse Bay Area Intermediate School District, including charter schools, parochial schools, and home-schooled children. Whether you are a classroom teacher or an art teacher, we would like your school and classroom represented. New this year, teachers may bring as many art pieces as they wish. If you belong to MAEA, you will receive special instructions concerning your entries. A random drawing will be held for prizes given to participating students and teachers. Please start saving student work, both 2-D and 3-D.
New this year, high school students are eligible for a $250 first prize, juried by retired art teachers and regional artists Cherie Correll and Daniel Lisuk! In addition to the high school first prize, there will be up to three honorable mentions.
Artist Beth Bynum, retired art teacher and current Crooked Tree Arts Center board member, will be hosting a make-and-take art project on Saturday, February 14.
The Youth Art Show is organized by Crooked Tree Arts Center – Traverse City in collaboration with Delta Kappa Gamma and the Michigan Art Education Association.
