Join us for this adventure in cooking!This is the first class in a series of 6 classes where you can learn the secrets of the professionals and make the recipes from home.
As part of this “Cooking Matters” class done in partnership with MSU Extension, you will receive the classes, groceries and cookbook, all for free. The class is taught by a Chef and Nutritionist and covers a variety of subjects making the entire series exciting and most enjoyable!
This class is designed to familiarize you with basic principles for choosing and preparing a variety of healthy foods at home.
1. Learn why it’s important to eat foods from all MyPyramid food groups. This helps to recognize the importance of a balanced diet.
2. Interpret the information available on food labels. This helps build skills reading food labels and identifying healthier choices.
3. Identify the benefits of cooking at home. This helps develop a positive attitude toward preparing home-.
Class size is limited to a first-come, first serve basis. You must commit to being at all 6 classes which are held on Mondays beginning Oct 6 thru November 10.
