Fall is in the air and northern Michigan orchards are busy harvesting bushels of fresh, ripe apples in preparation for the 38th Annual Apple Festival taking place downtown Charlevoix on October 14-16. Apples are Michigan’s largest and most valuable fruit crop and our area apple trees are full to overflowing. More than 30 types of apples will be available as well as other fall harvest items including pumpkins, mums, squash, jam, maple syrup, pies, cider and so much more. Local non-profit organizations will be onsite to tempt you with hot food items such as chili, hot dogs, apple flappens, soup, and kielbasa. Pick up your fresh bagels, mustard, crepes, honey, meat, baked goods, granola, and fall veggies – All locally grown and produced.
Our fall harvest celebration includes fun for the entire family. You won’t want to miss the Apple Fest Art & Craft Show taking place all three days in East Park featuring 115 exhibitor booths bursting with unique, one of a kind creations. The show offers the work of artists and craftsmen from around the country and is the perfect venue to kick off the holiday shopping season.
Kid’s activities include face painting, pumpkin painting and more. Whispering Pines Petting Zoo will be onsite with variety of adorable critters as well as Guthrey the camel who can’t get enough carrots!
