Two poets and a novelist read from their literature at Horizon Books of Traverse City: Robert Fanning, Jeffrey Bean and Darrin Doyle, all professors at Central Michigan University.

Robert Fanning presents poetry from his book, American Prophet, a collection of poems that mixes comedy and end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it truths.

Jeffrey Bean reads from his book of poetry,
Diminished Fifth, a record of fearless songs of praise and lament of our times.

Darrin Doyle readsfrom his novel, The Girl Who Ate Kalamazoo. The novel is “beautifully written, sneakily profound,” covering subjects such as “family, religion, urban blight and renewal, fame, literature, sister love and weightlifters.”
