All day: Great sledding, ice skating and cross-country skiing at Avalanche Preserve Recreation Area. Warming house has restrooms and free loaner skates and sleds.
1pm: Cross-country ski outing at The Hill Nature Preserve, led by Jack Laurent; intermediate/advanced skiers only.
1-3pm: Kids Games at Old City park, including Frozen Fish Toss, Frozen Turkey Bowling. Complimentary hot chocolate and doughnuts from Glen’s Market.
1-3pm: Horse-Drawn Sleigh Rides at Old City Park, $1 per person.

Chili Trophy: 3pm, Chili Cook-off, bring one gallon of chili in a crock pot to Coldwell Banker Schmidt Realtors, 231 Water St. Tasting starts at 3pm. Prizes for Judges Choice and People’s Choice. Participants include: Barrel Back, BCHS Culinary, Boyne Mountain, Boyne River Inn, Cafe Sante, Frog Hollow, Lake Street Market, Morel’s Bistro (2 entries), Parkside Grill & Treats, Porter Creek Fish House, Red Mesa Grill, Thick N’Juicy. Winner gets a traveling trophy.
4-7pm: Wine Tasting, Wine Emporium, 123 Water Street, offers a complimentary taste of three seasonal offerings, conversation and snacks.

5-6pm: Star Gazine with Bryan Shumaker of the Northern Michigan Astronomy Club (cloud cover permitting), in Sunset Park.
