The Holiday Open House & Santa Parade, held the Friday after Thanksgiving, is a tradition in Boyne City and that tradition continues this year. Returning this year will be a live Nativity scene at Coldwell Banker Real Estate, 231 Water St., from 4 to 8 p.m. There will be a camel, donkeys, sheep and goats, which children can feed at no cost. The open houses begin at 5 p.m. and the parade starts at 6 p.m. Boyne Area Girl Scouts will light the Community Christmas Tree in old City Park at 5 p.m. Following the tree lighting the Girl Scouts will lead holiday revelers in caroling. Children can visit with Santa before the parade in front of Kilwin’s Chocolates at the corner of Water and Lake Streets. After the parade, Santa and his reindeer will visit with children on the patio at Parkside Grill and Treats. Also after the parade from 6:30 to 9 p.m., there will be hay rides sponsored by Re/Max Resort Properties.
