OAC’s Annual Open House offers something for everyone!
Friday, June 27, 5-8pm: Features a Volunteer Appreciation event, a Members Only Artist Talk with Rufus Snoddy and an evening reception open to the public. Not a member but don’t want to miss out on this opportunity? You can sign up online or call 231.352.4151 and ask how you can become an Oliver Art Center member.
Saturday, June 28, 10am-3pm: Instructor talks and demonstrations, hands on ceramic studio, history presentations and a ribbon cutting and dedication of the Center’s new History Display. The winning design chosen, from the People’s Choice Winners at the Annual Student Show, was submitted by Donovan Libercajt of Benzie High School and used to create OAC’s summer shirt. Shirts will be on sale, proceeds help support the Annual Regional Student Exhibition.
Sunday, June 29, Noon-4pm: Oliver Art Center’s Annual Open House features a Kids and Family Day. Free hands on demonstrations run all day and include drawing, jewelry making, puppetry and clay work in the ceramics studio. Free youth activities and contests also take place. Cedar Kindy is offering a ‘Tie ‘n Dye’ for those who want the get their hands dirty. $25 (Members $20)–two 100% cotton items are needed. Learn how to fold, tie, and dye with permanent colors.
Frankfort is about 50 minutes southwest of Traverse City, U.S.-31 to M-115 West.
