2012 Summer Lecture Series

A History of Round Lake

A sweeping history of the development of Round Lake from the time before our first settlers arrived to what they did after they got here: the obstacles they encountered to get Round Lake and Lake Charlevoix connected to Lake Michigan, what has appeared on its shores over the decades and how that has changed, what of importance has come and gone—all illustrated by a few hundred photos of the buildings along its shore, the personalities involved, the activities that have taken place both on and beside Round Lake, and the many types of vessels that have plied its water. And that’s only the beginning.

Speaker: David L. Miles, Co-Director, Harsha House Museum, Charlevoix Historical Society
