Thurs., Aug. 8, 9:30am Horse Show. Children and adults demonstrate their equestrian skills. Riders and their mounts compete in Showmanship, English and Western Horsemanship, Western Pleasure, Bareback and more.
Thurs., Aug. 8, 11am-1pm Caring For Your Horse clinic. 4pm Poultry judging, including showmanship and conformation classes for water fowl, turkeys, chickens and game birds. The evening concludes with music from Herb Tipton and Friends.
Thurs., Aug. 8 Senior Citizen Appreciation Day. Noon cake walk. 2pm Bingo and a Checkers Tournament.
Fri., Aug. 9, 9am Livestock. Judging and showmanship of steers, hogs, goats, rabbits and more scheduled throughout the day. Area youth, and adults, compete for showmanship trophies as they demonstrate how to properly examine their animals. The animals themselves are then judged in confirmation classes to see which animal best meets the guidelines established for the breed.
Fri., Aug. 9 Veteran’s Appreciation Day. 8:55am Veteran’s tribute. Noon Taps is performed in honor of our veterans. 6:45pm God Bless America is performed in sign language and the Pledge of Allegiance and 4H Pledge is led by Antrim County Cloverbuds, as an introduction to the Livestock Auction.
Fri., Aug. 9, 9am Livestock judging begins. Noon Rabbit judging begins. 1-3pm Educational demonstrations throughout the fairgrounds. 4pm Wings of Wonder exhibition. 7pm The 4H Livestock Auction begins. The auction is an opportunity to support the youth who have raised a combined 80 livestock projects up for auction to buyers.
Sat., Aug.10 is all about Family Heritage. 9am Pancake Breakfast. Don’t miss the archery shoot, which is open to area youth; shop at the Family to Family sale all day. 10am Kids greased pig contest. 10:30am Free games and educational booths open all day. 1-3pm Free educational demonstrations from many local organizations. 6:30pm Horse Pull at the entrance to Craven Park. A 50/50 raffle during the horse pull helps offset the cost of the event.
Sun., Aug. 11 The final event of the Antrim County Fair is always the 10am Sunday Worship Service. Chalk Evangelist Matt Bowman preaches and creates an amazing work of art. Matt Bowman is a member of Grace Baptist Church in Gaylord.
There is no charge for admission or parking at the fair. Catch a covered wagon ride held daily throughout downtown Bellaire during the fair, and a packed exhibit hall filled with artistic and culinary creations, collections and more.
Bellaire is in Antrim County on M-88 between Lake Bellaire and Intermediate Lake.
