Situated on a navigable channel to Lake Michigan, the  beaches, boating and snowsports in Pentwater, Michigan, are a first-class outdoor attraction that make for a legendary Northern Michigan vacation. Pentwater boasts, two marinas, two boat launches, a beautiful beach at Charles Mears State Park and world-class Great Lakes charter fishing. Charles Mears State Park also offers camping. In the winter there is cross-country skiing and snowshoeing on the 7.5-mile Pentwater Pathway and at nearby Ludington State Park.

Charles Mears State Park

Skiing and Snowshoeing

The 7.2-mile Pentwater Pathway consists of four groomed looped trails that are flat to a moderate grade.  Expect a groomed ski path with snowshoers encouraged to walk beside it.  In the spring, summer and fall the trail is open to hiker and mountain bikers. Motorized vehicles are prohibited.

Find it: Pentwater Monroe Road exit off US-31, turn west on Long Bridge Road and then south on Wayne Road. Entrance is about one mile south.
