Online home of Traverse, Northern Michigan’s Magazine Captures Building Excitement of the Fourth Annual Traverse City Film Festival With Video, Launches Filmgoer Guide

Traverse City, MI (PRWeb) June 11, 2008–MyNorth.com, the online home of Traverse, Northern Michigan’s Magazine, videotaped interviews of the revelry as people bought tickets to Madonna’s documentary, I Am Because We Are on Saturday, June 7 at the Traverse City State Theatre in Traverse City, Michigan. Many had been waiting in line overnight, some for days.  The video, available free on MyNorth.com, captures the building excitement of the fourth annual Traverse City Film Festival. Traverse also provides printed Film Festival information in a special section of its August issue, Filmgoer.

“The street outside the State Theatre Box Office was buzzing with excitement,” says MyNorth.com marketing director Rachel North. “People camped out overnight, some for days, and claimed they were exhausted, but you couldn’t tell from the energy level.” On the video, North interviews folks who stood in line with their dogs, braved thunderstorms, drove all night through tornados and dressed up as Madonna.

Patrons of the 2008 Traverse City Film Festival can pick up Filmgoer, Traverse’s annual city guide tailored exclusively to the film fest. The guide is packed with tips to find live entertainment, quick bites, gourmet meals, cocktails, beaches and other attractions, plus maps, festival facts, shuttle routes and need-to-know info like where to park, find restrooms or purchase sundries. Filmgoer will be in the August issue of Traverse, Northern Michigan’s Magazine—sent to subscribers and available on newsstands in mid-July. The guide will also be available as a single issue online at MyNorth.com/store.

Additionally, film aficionados may subscribe to MyNorth.com’s free Filmgoer e-newsletter at mynorth.com/newsletters, to stay in the loop on the Traverse City Film Festival and other cinematic happenings around the Northern Michigan.
