August 4

Traverse City Street Sale: Check out the hottest sale in town followed by Friday Night Live!

The 7th Annual Carter’s Kids Golf, Dinner and Concert at Lochenheath Golf Course featuring alternative rock indie-tronica band from Australia, Atlas Genius.

Legacy Gala: The Legacy Gala is the signature fundraiser for Michigan Legacy Art Park. The event takes place in the Crystal Center at Crystal Mountain and features a silent auction, sparkling wine reception, locally sourced dinner, live music, and the presentation of the Legacy Award. Doug and Anne Stanton will be recognized for their significant contributions to Michigan including their own prolific writing, vision for building community through literature, and commitment to sharing a love for writing and reading with the next generation. All event proceeds directly support opportunities for art and learning at Michigan Legacy Art Park. Thompsonville.

Friday Night Live in Ludington: A community street party in Downtown Ludington featuring live music, food, face painting, games, and other free family activities, 6–9 p.m.

Great Lakes Fish Boil: The evening begins with a fun presentation of the history of Great Lakes fish boils, followed by the spectacular boil-off signaling the fish is done. Dinner can be enjoyed in the dining room or the outside patio. Bring the family and visit the friendly farm animals or explore the trail system before or after the boil. Elk Rapids Harbor Days: Harbor Days run August 2–5 with the popular Evening on River Street. The August 4 schedule includes Kid’s Day games, athletic events, carnival rides, festival parade, musical entertainment, and fireworks.

Onekama Days: Enjoy a series of activities including art exhibits, dancing, live music, bake sales, arts & crafts, dinners, activities for kids, exceptional fireworks over Portage Lake and the Grand Parade August 3–7.

August 5

Northport Lions Club Fly-In Breakfast: Enjoy the Northport Lions Club Fly-in, Pancake Breakfast, and Auto Show, plus community band. Pancakes with cherry topping, sausages, juice, and coffee. Adults $8. Kids ages 5–12, $4, and kids under 4 are free. Woolsey Memorial Airport.

August 9

Harvest Dinner: These monthly, wine-paired culinary experiences are inspired by the best local, seasonal ingredients sourced from Northern Michigan’s finest farms. Tickets are limited to 50 guests and the $100 price includes tax and gratuity. Arcturos Room at the Inn at Black Star Farms, Suttons Bay. Tickets available at MyNorthTickets.com.

August 10

Jazz at Sunset: Join The Jeff Haas Trio & special guests for a wonderful evening of music, wine, and stunning sunsets. Lisa Flahive’s work is featured again as the Artist in Residence for the 24th anniversary season. You can watch Flahive create this impressive artwork live every Thursday evening this summer at Chateau Chantal during Jazz at Sunset with the Jeff Haas Trio. 7–9:30 p.m. Old Mission Peninsula.
