After many years shooting in Northern Michigan, my schedule finally allowed me the opportunity to attend Blissfest. Wow, was I impressed! I’ve been to many festivals in my day from gigantic ones like Coachella to teeny tiny ones like Baja Bash. The one thing I thought all festivals had in common was the pure joy and excitement paired with the pure agony of the logistics (parking, ticketing, rules, bathrooms, long lines, etc.). Well, that is until now! Blissfest was not only an amazing festival full of top-notch performers, community, art and food, but it is by far the easiest festival I have ever attended. From the minute I arrived to the minute I left, things went smoothly and the people were helpful. I now understand that “Bliss” is more than just a festival. It’s a recurring moment in time to connect (and re-connect) with people of all ages, all backgrounds and all walks of life. This connection over music, art and food grows stronger with every year.
