May 26

Spring arrives in full flower when Center Gallery in Glen Arbor opens its 2017 season with “The Flower Show.” This three-person exhibit showcases two different approaches to floral paintings by Grand Rapids resident Margo Burian and Lauren Everett Finn of Honor; and the porcelain pottery of Matt McGovern of Cedar. May 26–27

The Annual Plant Sale on the Village Green in Leland is on tap for Memorial Day Weekend! Now is your chance to purchase native ferns, trillium and more along with a huge selection of other nursery perennials, trees and shrubs provided by locally owned Four Seasons Nursery, who will be on hand to answer questions about going native. All proceeds help maintain the Village Green and assist with other Leelanau Conservancy projects. Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m.– 4 p.m. 231.256.9665.

Northern Michigan Hearse Cruise: What is the Hearse Cruise? A group of people stretching from the professional funeral director to the common person who has a love for such a unique vehicle! They will be taking donations on this years cruise to help support the Charlevoix Humane Society. The traveling show includes a route through Gaylord, Boyne Falls, East Jordan, and Boyne City.

Cherry Capital Comic Con C4 is Northern Michigan’s largest comic book and pop entertainment expo. Located at the scenic Grand Traverse Resort, C4 is Northern Michigan’s perfect gathering of comic book creators, exhibitors, and fans. KIDS 10 and under FREE with paid adult! The Friends of Interlochen Public Library Annual Plant & Flower Sale. A variety of geraniums, hanging baskets, annuals, perennials, and herbs will be available at Ric’s Corner, US-31 and M-137 in Interlochen. Saturday 9 a.m.–3 p.m. 231.276.6767.

Michigan Beer & Brat Festival: Kick off the summer with this Memorial Day weekend tradition at Crystal Mountain. Enjoy live entertainment while sampling an enormous selection of Michigan’s finest microbrews, local hard cider, mead, wine and gourmet brats from northwest Michigan markets.
