While the turkey’s cooking in the oven, head out to Pennsylvania Park in downtown Petoskey to join 200 other runners for the annual Petoskey Turkey Trot November 24. This year’s race is sponsored by 4Front Credit Union, Fletch’s and Blue Cross Blue Shield and will benefit the YMCA of Northern Michigan along with the local Big Brothers Big Sisters organization.
All pre-registered racers will receive a long sleeve t-shirt at race packet pick-up, as well as lots of other cools gifts. There will be snacks to enjoy after the race to refuel before you sit down for the big meal of the day!
The Turkey Trot along with the 4.9770K Color Run and the 3-on-3 basketball tournament that the YMCA of Northern Michigan host has three key areas of focus: youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. All three events encourage family participation and fundraise for additional programs the YMCA offers to Northern Michigan children.
