PETOSKEY: The 2016-17 Swirl event seriesĀ at the Crooked Tree Arts Center-Petoskey kicks-off on Thursday, October 20, featuring a sampling of creative appetizers and fine wines from Bel Lago Vineyards & Winery and Petoskey Cheese. Local musicians Oh Brother, Big Sister will perform in the galleries.

Swirl is a monthly wine tasting with music and the most recent art exhibit on display. Each month the Arts Center partners with local wine purveyors, restaurants and performers to put on an evening of culture and entertainment for the community. Three exhibits will be open including the ā€œ36th Annual Juried Fine Arts,ā€ the ā€œDetroit Society of Women Painters and Sculptors: SOLILOQUY,ā€ and ā€œBack to Schoolā€ Exhibition during the October Swirl.

For the October Swirl, CTAC is partnering with Little Traverse Civic Theatre to present a special evening of local culture. An additional combo ticket option of $25 will be available for admittance to the Swirl and the performance of ā€œMurder by Poeā€ on Thursday, October 20. Original artwork created by local artists for ā€œMurder by Poeā€ will be on display during the Swirl and for the playā€™s duration, available for bidding through silent auction.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with food and music going until 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 per person the day of Swirl, and may be purchased online at www.crookedtree.org or by calling 231-347-4337. Tickets are available now, and subject to availability.

The Swirl series will continue with the Holiday Wine MarketĀ on Sunday, November 13 from 5:00 ā€“ 7:00 p.m. with seasonal appetizers, accompanied by a variety of wines, while the Crooked Tree Jazz Ensemble will be performing holiday favorites on stage. The Art Tree Gallery will be brimming with the work and products from local and regional artists and artisans to help you get a jump start on your shopping. Tickets for the Holiday Wine Market Swirl are $20 in advance and $25 per person the day of the event.

The fifth annual Summer Super SwirlĀ will be held Wednesday, August 16, 2017 from 5:30 ā€“ 8:00 p.m. with D&W’s Fresh MarketĀ providing wines and food. This Super Swirl is a strolling, tasting, music and art event with demonstrations and performances throughout the Arts Center and the Carnegie Building. Tickets for this event are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.
