The Home Builders Association of the Grand Traverse Area (HBAGTA) is hosting their 27th annual Parade of Homes June 11-12 and June 16-19. The premier Northern Michigan event is an opportunity to see the newest products and designs offered by area builders, tradesmen and suppliers.

Attendees have six days to meet an elite group of home building professionals—all members of HBAGTA—to ask questions about future building and remodeling projects. There are 10 homes on the Parade this year, which you can visit at your leisure and in any order.

Special features on the Parade this year …

  • LED lighting throughout the home
  • A focus on energy efficiency, sustainability and durability. Hint: TREX decking will never have to be re-stained!
  • Main level open floor plan
  • High ceilings
  • Bonus rooms
  • Natural lighting in all rooms, including the walk-in closets
  • Quartz countertops

There’s lots to see during this year’s Parade including a log home featuring a full log shell with unique archways and columns; a home with locally sourced and repurposed natural wood products designed and manufactured in Traverse City by the builder’s circular saw mill; and a home featuring a rustic Leelanau County barn beam utilized for the fireplace mantle. The same home is also equipped with a basketball court, pig-pen, in-ground pool, putting green and an in-ground trampoline.

The 2015 People’s Choice homes were constructed by Durango Homes, Bay Area Construction and KA Construction. Samples of their work are pictured below.
