May 28: Northport Cars in the Park. Take a scenic drive along M-22 north to Northport for the 19th annual Cars in the Park and find out why it is the longest running auto show in Leelanau County. 231.386.5473.

June 1: Nature’s Palette Exhibit at the Botanic Garden. Last day to experience this fine art exhibition featuring the exceptional paintings of 14 local artists. Presented by the Visitor Center at the Botanic Garden along with Studio One 6, within Historic Barns Par in Traverse City. 231.935.4077.

June 2: A Literary Evening with Brian Castner. Come hear acclaimed author Brian Castner talk about his efforts to track down “The Engineer” – the man suspected of making the bomb that killed Traverse City soldier Matthew Schwartz, his friend and EOD brother. June 2-5: Mancelona Bass Festival.
