(April 8, 2017) Traverse City—MyNorth Media, producer of Traverse, Northern Michigan’s Magazine launches a sweet event for locals and visitors alike: the MyNorth Sweet Tooth Tour at 14 locations in Traverse City and Leelanau County, from Friday April 22 through Saturday, April 30. Tour goers purchase packs of tickets, 4 for $25 or 6 for $30, and each ticket in the pack entitles one to 4 big-bite-sized desserts at one location, or Sweet Spot. After tasting, tour-goers vote on their favorite bite at each location. Votes will be tallied and reported in a summer issue of Traverse, Northern Michigan’s Magazine.

“This event is another reason for folks to get out and enjoy Northern Michigan this spring,” says Rachel North, marketing director for MyNorth Media. “It’s a sweet add-on to a girl’s getaway, winery or brewery tours, a golf trip, a spa weekend or for foodies who want to enjoy our great cuisine without the crowds.”

With 14 participating sweet spots there are more than 50 possible sweet treats including:

  • Hummingbird nectar tart
  • Roquefort and walnut cheesecake
  • Strawberry chiffon cake with rhubarb compote
  • Banana foster waffle: vanilla waffle covered with vanilla bean butter and homemade banana cinnamon jam
  • Lemon cookie & pistachio ice cream mini ice cream sandwich dipped in white chocolate ganache
  • Pâte au chocolat
  • Blood orange and olive oil cake morsel
  • Hot fudge sundae
  • Triple play brownie
  • Tiramisu
  • Dark chocolate truffles
  • Chocolate cherry sourdough bread pudding with Grand Traverse Whiskey vanilla sauce
  • Chocolate pot de crème
  • Hazelnut toffee

“One could enjoy a Sweet Tooth Tour treat at the end of dinner on several different nights, or go from one spot to another on a single day,” explains North. “The tour lasts nine scrumptious days.”
