Leland Drama and the Verdier Circle of Friends present Urinetown: The Musical on stage at the Leland Performing Arts Center from May 5 through May 14. The Leland High School Urinetown performance is modeled off the brilliant satire plays of Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht. The fast-paced, comedic performance will have you falling out of your seat in laughter.
The show synopsis: “In the not-so-distant future, a terrible water shortage and 20-year drought has led to a government ban on private toilets and a proliferation of paid public toilets, owned and operated by a single megalomaniac company: the Urine Good Company. If the poor don’t obey the strict laws prohibiting free urination, they’ll be sent to the dreaded Urinetown.”
Curtain time is at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $12 for adults and $10 for children and students.
