How To Build A Quinzee, an Easy Winter Shelter

Northern Michigan winter camping is far more comfortable when you shelter in a Quinzee as opposed to a tent. We’re not talking about Igloos here, which includes cutting snow and ice into blocks to be assembled into shelter. A Quinzee requires only shoveling snow into a big pile. And in Northern Michigan, we sure have a lot of snow! But the big debate¬†is: How to build a Quinzee properly.

Join MyNorth Media’s Jeff Smith and his friends Chris and Dan Mills as they walk you through the stages of building a Quinzee with this MyNorth video.

Added bonus: This survival shelter also makes a great fort for your kids and a fun afternoon for the family!
