Spend a day in Traverse City mountain biking with your kids at the 2015 Take A Kid Mountain Biking Day on Saturday, October 3. This Northern Michigan event is sponsored by Norte! and the Northern Michigan Mountain Bike Association. It’s also part of a global event, IMBA’s International Take A Kid Mountain Biking Day, which encourages communities around the world to celebrate the joy of riding in the dirt.

WHERE? Bring your bike, helmet and a friend to the VASA Single track parking lot off Supply Road.

WHEN? Saturday, October 3rd. Meet at 9:45 am. Rolling at 10 am.

WHO’S INVITED?  Everyone! Preschoolers on balance bikes to high school seniors on 29ers. All ages and abilities are welcome.

HOW FAR? We will have 4 rides available:

  • 5k – Flat and easy on the Kinglet Loop for our youngest shredders
  • 12k – Ride to Marker #7. Vasa pathway to #13 for intermediate riders
  • 18k – Ride to Marker #8. Shortcut to #12 for intermediate+ riders
  • 23k – Full enchilada for the advanced riders

IS THERE GOING TO BE PIZZA TO EAT AFTER? Of course. NMMBA is bringing dessert too.

HOW ABOUT SUPER AWESOME RAFFLE PRIZES? You betcha. Thanks to the generosity of Tim and Jody Pease, we will have all sorts of cool prizes.

WHO ELSE IS COMING? Look for riders from our Community Partners including McLain Cycles, Einstein Cycles,  Keen, and Recycle-A-Bicycle to keep the FUN dial turned up high.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? Zip. Nada. Zilch. No registration required either. Just show up and ride.
