TRAVERSE CITY: Crooked Tree Arts Center in Traverse City is proud to present a unique twist on kids’ visual art classes with “Graffiti and Street Art.” The Northern Michigan event will be taught by local artist, Chase Hunt, well-known for his work with area youth and his dumpster-beautification project along the Front Street alley.

The Traverse City art class will span four weeks, meeting each Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., October 21 through November 11, 2015. Each session will include a history of graffiti and street art, as well as hands-on art practice. Students will write their names using a graffiti alphabet, create their own letter wall, create and use stencils, finishing their time with an abstract street art painting.

“Graffiti and Street Art” is open to students in grades 4 to 8. The cost is $95 for Crooked Tree Arts Center members and $115 for non-members; paint supplies are included.
