HARBOR SPRINGS: Boyne Highlands Resort’s 2nd Annual Hops ‘n Highlands Microbrew Festival takes place on Saturday, September 26 at Boyne Highlands in Harbor Springs. The event highlights Northern Michigan beer and features more than 40 Michigan breweries and over 150 beers. The event celebrates Michigan as “The Great Beer State” —highlighting Michigan craft beers exclusively.

The festival offers free admission to ages 21 and older with tickets available for beer tastings. Tickets are $2 each for a four-ounce pour. The outdoor tented tasting area is open from 1 to 6 pm. Northern Michigan breweries include local favorites Petoskey Brewing Co. and Beards Brewery, as well as Bell’s Brewery, Brewery Vivant, Cheboygan Brewing Co., Greenbush Brewing Co., Keweenaw Brewing Co., New Holland Brewing Co., Right Brain Brewery, Short’s Brewing Co. and many more.

Event goers can delight in the flavors of the season with plentiful seasonal brews and tasty eats from food trucks including Happy’s Tacos and Wood Fired Up, as well as brats on the grill. Huckleberry Groove, a horn band and crowd favorite, returns with live entertainment during the festival.

While at the resort, soak up the beauty of fall with complimentary scenic chairlift rides to the top of Boyne Highlands where there are panoramic views of Little Traverse Bay, Crooked Lake, and the surrounding Pleasantview Valley. Or fly high above the festival with a special on Twin Zip Rides, two rides for $15, noon to 8 pm.

After the festival wraps up, the Slopeside Lounge continues to deliver fun with live entertainment beginning at 6:30 pm.

Those in need of relaxation can head to The Spa for Brew and Renew and receive 20% off spa services.
