Combine your Northern Michigan fall color tour with a celebration of Northern Michigan’s apple harvest at the Charlevoix Apple Festival. This annual Northern Michigan event runs from October 9 to October 11 throughout downtown Charlevoix.
Visitors can pick up fresh, local apples from Northern Michigan orchards and talk with growers at their booths lining Bridge Street, or try other local produce from area vendors. There will be more than 30 types of apples available as well as pumpkins, squash, jam and cider.
“There are about 20 food booths including vendors from our summer farmers market and area nonprofits who will be selling everything from maple syrup and honey to pies and baked goods,” said Charlevoix Apple Festival Coordinator Shelly Ferguson.
There will be plenty of activities and events for kids at the Charlevoix Apple Festival such as face painting and the petting zoo. Kids can also paint pumpkins and make other crafts to take home.
This year’s Charlevoix Apple Festival arts & crafts show in East Park will feature the work of 115 artists and craftsmen from around the country. Other fun activities include the Apple Fest Family Run, which will take place on Saturday, October 10, a Fall Color Cruise and guided Mushroom Home Tours.
