Video: Sleeping Bear Dunes Heritage Trail

The Sleeping Bear Dunes Heritage Trail is a 27-mile, non-motorized trail through the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. On May 22, 2015, the newest section of the trail, from Fisher Road in Glen Arbor to Port Oneida close to Pyramid Pointofficially opened to the public, tacking on 3.5 miles to the previously completed 9.5 miles.

Before setting out on the bike trail, videographer Kris Riley, as well as editorial intern Carly Simpson and web editor Eliza Foster, stopped by The Cyclery at Crystal River Outfitters in Glen Arbor to rent bikes before meeting up with Julie Clark, the executive director of TART Trails. Learn more about the newly completed section in this MyNorth Media video, then hit the trail yourself!

Note: Since this video has been published, more sections of the Sleeping Bear Dunes Heritage Trail have been completed. Learn more about the trail here, and view an updated map
