BELLAIRE: April programs at Grass River Natural Area have been announced.

Spring Break Stream Scientists
Thursday April 2, 2015 at 10:00am, $3 per child | adults free
Put on your lab coat and learn the different tests that scientists use on creeks to learn about the water that flows through them. For families with upper elementary students or middle school students.

Birding Series: Bird Songs Walk
Saturday April 11, 2015 at 8:00am, Free
Join us on a walk as the birds of spring begin to sing. Learn to bird by ear! Grass River is a birding hotspot and a great place to enjoy and learn many bird species. All ages and birding abilities welcome. Bird walks begin at the Grass River Center, unless the road is impassable, then we will meet at the Big Green Barn near the entrance on Alden Highway.

Frog Wetland Walk
Saturday April 18, 2015 at 1:00pm, Free
Celebrate the coming of spring and take a walk to woodland vernal pools to look and listen for frog activity. Learn how to identify local frogs by their calls. All ages.

Earth Day Celebration- Earth Walk 5k
Sunday April 19, 2015 at 12:00 noon, Free
Celebrate the 45th anniversary of Earth Day with family friendly activities, Leave No Trace Traveling Trainers, and a fun walk for all ages. We will meet at the Big Green Barn at the entrance on Alden Highway with fun earth day activities at Noon. The walk will begin at 1pm and cover 5 kilometers/ 3.1 miles, highlighting GRNA’s trails – a fantastic way to join the community in celebrating Earth Day. Shorter walk options available. Earth Walk t-shirts available for purchase but must be preregistered.
