TRAVERSE CITY: The 2015 Picnic at the Opera lineup is announced! The popular Musical Lunchtime LoveFest promises another fun and diverse season — live on stage and on UpNorthTV channel 189 from City Opera House in downtown Traverse City. Performed live on the main stage, Picnic at the Opera is noon to 1 p.m. every Wednesday from January 21 through February 25 (six weeks). Admission is FREE and guests are invited to bring a lunch. Donations are requested at the event to help sustain the nonprofit City Opera House.

Picnic at the Opera is a beautiful example of community collaboration. Singer/songwriter Miriam Picó and WTCM Radio’s Jamie Kramer return as hosts of Michigan’s only live TV variety show. Each one-hour show features Miriam’s beautiful music with pianist David Chown, special musical guests and other performers, interviews with visual artists, and a writer’s corner.

The Watershed Center Grand Traverse Bay will feature local artists weekly. Author Anne-Marie Oomen and friends will provide us with “A Flash of Verse” through their short-short stories and poetry.
