HARBOR SPRINGS:  Boyne Highlands Resort is part of the most anticipated traveling snowboard event series of the year – the 2015 Burton Mountain Festival Presented by MINI, an eight-stop, on-snow community snowboarding festival for riders of all ages, and the 2nd Annual Party In Your Park snowboard contest series, a 17-stop, grassroots tour celebrating the fun in contest snowboarding. The events take place Feb. 14-16 and are free.

As a community event from a community of snowboarders, the 2015 Burton Mountain Festival is the most extensive, interactive snowboard demo experience in North America and features programs and activities for friends, family, and riders to enjoy. The Boyne Highlands stop features Burton’s 2015 demo fleet, which gives riders the chance to try out Burton’s latest boards, boots and bindings all for free from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

New this year, the 2015 Burton Girls Ride Day offers exciting women’s-specific programming, product demos, and events from BurtonGirls. Look for a girls-only, luxury on-snow Burton Girls tent with dedicated female staff on hand to help riders choose the best new women’s gear to try from Burton. And on Saturday, Feb. 14, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., meet up at the Burton Girls tent for complimentary breakfast, women’s hard goods demo, and take laps with fellow female riders and Burton Girls.

Kids as young as three will have the chance to try snowboarding in the free Riglet Park located near North Camelot. The innovative Riglet program gives little ones a fun introduction to snowboarding in a learning park built specifically for them. To make learning even easier, Burton is providing free snowboards, boots and bindings for the smallest kids to use while in the park. Certified snowboard coaches will also be available to help kids learn to ride on mini features like boxes, ramps, and rails at no cost.

The festival also offers an amazing sponsor village with free activities and fun giveaways from event partners from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day. Head to the MINI, Paul Mitchell and Garmin tents to get in on all the action, including a chance to try the Garmin VIRB – the HD action camera with the ability to record data such as speed, altitude, and GPS position.

And to top it all off, one of the most exciting parts of the Burton Mountain Festival is the 2015 Party In Your Park contest taking place on Saturday, Feb. 14, at 11 a.m. in the Challenger Terrain Park.  It’s easy for riders to compete at Party In Your Park – with no registration fee, riders can simply register between 9-10 a.m., and drop in to compete.

Riders in the contest are added to one of three teams who work together during the event. Members of the winning team walk away with a great prize, and the best riders are invited to compete in the West Coast and East Coast finals taking place during the Brighton and Seven Springs events. To sweeten the deal, the top ranking riders at the West Coast and East Coast finals may even earn a chance to compete on the coveted global stage at next year’s Burton Rail Days event in Tokyo, Japan.
